I am having a garage sale this weekend and an older man asked me to sell this machine for him. I have no idea what to ask and would like all opinions on what you think would be a fair and good price. the machine sews beautiful and is very clean. I thought about keeping it but I already have way too much good stuff. thanks for all suggestions.

I'd suggest asking the owner what is the least amount he would take for it, and what he thinks is a fair price. Let those figures be your guide.

check similar machines on ebay

It's probably a $50 machine (it would be in Ontario) as it is going to need a very good clean-up for the machine and a re-finish for the cabinet. It also looks like the cords will have to be replaced as they look very worn and have that limp rubbery look. When all that is done, it will be a beautiful looking unit as well as stitch well. If you ask too much, it just won't sell.

Do not go under $90.00 for it.

I paid $95 for a similar machine, Red Eye pattern. My cabinet is in better shape and had all new electrical cords.
Love it! My DGD use it, it is perfect for their sewing needs.

I can't see it well, but is that a centennial badge on the machine? Did the gentleman tell you the model? Is there a manual? Attachments? Aside from the model info, these things will also help determine value.

Editted: As best I can see, the serial number starts AK017___

before AK017221, it is a model 15, allotted on Nov. 19, 1950.
If AK017221 or greater, it is a model 66, allotted the same date.

I don't see a spool pin on the top?!

Spool pins can be replaced. Is there a lever for the stitch length regulator? (right hand side of the machine on the column) All I can see is a blob (paint?)
