I've created a quilt pattern and instructions and I'd like to see if someone other than me can follow them and actually make the quilt. So here's my offer.

I will send you the required fabric, including backing. And you test out the instructions and provide feedback. The quilt of course is yours to keep. All I ask is that you provide several photos that I can use for advertising purposes.

Any takers?

What skill level would the project require? Are there circles? Applique? Any specifics without ruining the surprise?

QultingaddictUK 07-01-2011 04:50 AM

I have done testing for a designer over the pond but I don't know if you want someone so far away?

No applique. The basic block is a shall we say 'modified' nine patch. I've made one myself and I'm a novice at worst and an amateur at best. I think any difficulty would stem from my poor use of proper terminology and 'side-ways' thinking when attempting a project.

I'm looking for two testers, maybe three, each to do a different size. The smallest project is a wall hanging version that is 27" square w/o borders.

I'll send you a PDF version of the pattern and I'll either let you pick color or pick them myself and hit the LQS this weekend. i could do one if you still need someone

deelost 07-01-2011 06:29 AM

I love to quilt from patterns just to see if I can follow instrutions and come out with the same results. This allows me to learn new methods besides my own. PM me with details. Always looking for something new to do. I don't need fabric, but the pattern sounds interesting.

MellieKQuilter 07-01-2011 07:07 AM

I have lots of fabric, I would love to test the pattern :) If you want more testers that can use their own fabric, PM me.

bj 07-01-2011 07:09 AM

I got the pattern. Now to go find the fabric! (O:

yolanda 07-01-2011 07:10 AM

I would test a block using my own fabric.

LucyInTheSky 07-01-2011 07:10 AM

I'd be happy to use my own fabric, if you want another tester (I know you've found a lot already). If you're interested, please PM me. I am a great proof reader and very anal about good grammar and sentences making sense and such, which I think is important in a pattern :)

Thanks everyone for your offers to help. I hoped to get at least two people I could send fabric to and ended up with three and plus eight volunteers willing to provide their own fabric.

Thanks so much! I've already got it posted, but once I have everyone's feedback and picture I plan to edit if needed and re-post it for sale on Ebay using some of the photos for advertising.

Love to.... if you don't mind shipping to Ontario. I'm short on sewing stuff.. its all quilting right now.

Mary Bird 07-02-2011 04:44 AM

I'll provide the fabric, if you still need a tester. I've tested patterns for others, and even quilt designs for a mfr of automated quilters.

If you want to share the pattern I will make up a quilt and take all the pics you need. I'm always looking for a different pattern for comfort quilts.
Not necessary to send fabric, you should see my stash!

sixfootroad 07-02-2011 05:20 AM

Sounds like something I would be interested in! I've been quilting for over 20 years. If you want to send it, I'll give it my best shot! Private email [email protected]
