Purchasing batting by the roll

Do any of you purchase batting by the roll? I am interested in Hobbs 80/20 and Hobbs all cotton. What would be the best width to order 96 or 108? Finally, the best place to purchase. Thanks for your help. And yes, the sun was shining in NC today

I haven't but I think I will start. Joann's has batting by the roll for $99 right now. I understand it is pretty nice and can save some great money, so I will be interested in any other comments. I think it is the way to go if you got the storage room.

I have bought the roll at JoAnn's when it was not on sale and i had a 50% off coupon - so it was about $7 a yard. I've done the same thing with backing fabric. On size, i usually buy the 108 - it's perfect for a king or queen - and 1/2 the width is a nice size for a lap quilt.

I haven't yet but I am waiting for a 50% off and I am going to do that. Great savings...can't beat that!

Someone on here mentioned this site: http://www.heartbeatquilting.com/shop.htm. I'll be placing an order tomorrow morning.

I buy warm and natural at Joanne's with a coupon.

I bought a roll on sale at Joann's a while back, 108'' and I am still using it. It is maybe half gone. I think backing would be a good idea also at 108". We have to save where we can.

I buy mine on the roll at Joann's I love it, it's so nice to have it handy

I always get mine by the roll. it's quite pricy all at once like that, but I usually use a 40% off coupon from joann's. I also, always use the best muslin joann's carries for all my backing, and buy that by the bolt also. I figure if I use my creativity on the top, that's all I'm good for. and we use our quilts lots, and wash them lots with all the grdks. usually I will walk in and special order, and have them sent to the store. that way there isn't any shipping charge.

If you do charity quilting, Hobbs offers a really good price with 5 UPC's for rolls of 80/20 and also their polyester batting. You have to pay shipping from Waco, TX. Information is available on their website.
