Has anyone ever purchased from this seller on Ebay?

http://shop.ebay.com/franks11/m.html...id=p4340.l2562

Are the prices good?

AlwaysQuilting 05-24-2011 04:29 AM

I haven't but her high feedback is excellent. That's a good sign.

Baysidegal 05-24-2011 04:29 AM

I haven't but I am going to. Those prices are really good. Can't hurt to order a few.. The shipping is not bad.

arkansasquilter123 05-24-2011 04:34 AM

I have. NO problems.

KarenR 05-24-2011 04:37 AM

I just got my order yesturday. Got four really great ones, 1 lighter weight one, and 1 that was not my taste. All nice fabrics.
The last one I would not have picked if I had seen it in person verses a picture.

YOu can call them - the phone number is on their muslin listing and they will email you a picture and then you can pick. I would have an idea of what I want and what company the necxt time I order from them. Like Moda, Timeless Treasure, RJR, etc.

So YES I would order from them again. I would call them and order. Price depends on how many yards you get.

I would request that they tape the package - the package was ripped when it arrived.

gaigai 05-24-2011 04:40 AM

Yes, I have, and even posted a thread about it:

I haven't but might have to chek it out! Looks like good pricing and the high feedback is a good thing! Thanks for sharing!

jeaninmaine 05-24-2011 04:43 AM

No, this particular seller doesn't. But you can call and give your credit card info directly to him.

huntannette 05-24-2011 05:14 AM

sueisallaboutquilts 05-24-2011 05:17 AM

Very good rating but I've never bought, only b/c I like to choose my own fabrics.
Maybe I should re-think this though- prices are great and I could always gift something I didn't care for (if that happened)

Mamaskeeto 05-24-2011 05:32 AM

They have very good feedback. I looked at their items and have found a few things that I just can't live my life without. (LOL)

luvstoquilt301 05-24-2011 06:13 AM

WOW--that is alot of fabric. I wonder where they got it all?

Candela59 05-24-2011 06:27 AM

I do most of my fabric buying on Ebay. I've never purchased from her, but the prices seem really good. Her feedback rating is good too.

I always read some of the feedback comments before I buy, even if they have a 100%.

If they don't mention who the fabric is by such as Moda I will send them a message and ask if it is Walmart and/or Joann quality because I don't want that.

So, just make sure all of your questions are answered and then start with a small purchase!

I went to this site and am amazed at his inventory. He sells good brands and the prices seem to be very reasonable. The only thing I see wrong is that you can't pick out the print you want. If you are buying a selection I guess that doesn't matter. I did see some things that would have gone with my last quilt if I had seen it earlier.

I thought if you sold on E-Bay you HAVE to accept Pay-Pal. I can't see E-Bay letting you sell on their site and only collecting the listing fee and a portion of the sale. E-Bay owns Pal-Pal. They are going to get every cent they can.

Nanamoms 05-24-2011 07:33 AM

I've looked at their listings before but haven't bought anything. Fabric seems to be great prices. I wondered about the PP issue, too. Thought you had to take PP to list on ebay!!

tarbender30 05-24-2011 07:34 AM

Seems like very good fabrics and very good pricing. No, I have not bought from them but I might the next time I have the money to buy.
Let us know if you do buy from there and what you think about it, please?
Good Luck

I LOVE Frank's! I've bought hundreds of fat quarters in assortments from him. Very fast service, reasonable shipping charges and you can't beat the prices.

You're usually going to get a couple of "stinkers" in any given assortment, but the prices are so low that you don't really mind.

I was particularly happy with the Civil War, Jinny Beyer, black and white assortments, but the assortments change all the time.

I've also bought a lot of muslin yardage from him - I use muslin for interlinings, pressing cloths, foundations and patterns.

You can call and order over the phone like we used to do in the "olden days" before secure servers and internet catalogs. :) Franks is terrific!

Great-great granny 05-24-2011 07:51 AM

Shes been selling for 2 yrs (over 7000 sales) & never had a neg - don't think you can beat that. Good luck

DeniseP 05-24-2011 07:55 AM

I have never purchased from this seller from ebay, but I have been to his store in Claremont, NH. Prices were INCREDIBLE!! The seller is a male, his father started FRank's Bargain Center about 30 years ago. His name is Phil and if you call him and ask about particular fabrics, he can usually tell you if he has it. If you buy 100 yards of various cottons, your choice of course, the price is $2.65 a yard. He is great about prompt shipping and always tries to find the most economical way of shipping. I drove there once from Maine. Sounds like it's close, but really wasn't. Long drive there and back, but prices were worth it. I would definitely buy from this seller. Prices are great and so is the service.

purplemem 05-24-2011 08:27 AM

I've bought from him and he is great!

He tries very hard to give you what you want. He answers the phone, is a one man business. I was very satisfied and will buy from him again.

I Herd Ewe 05-25-2011 04:10 AM

Frank's is awesome. The first time I bought from him, I was looking at a fat quarter homespun package to make a log cabin quilt. Phil answered the phone personally and asked what I was making. When I told him, he asked "would long quarters work better for you to make the strips for that?" I told him yes and they cut my order as long quarters rather than fat quarters for me at the same price. A beautiful selection of 75 different homespun fabrics at 63 cents per 1/4 yard! I have bought from him several times and several of my friends have bought from him and all of us have always been very happy. I always call him with my credit card. Pay Pal is NOT required to use E-bay.

1) I haven't purchased any fabrics at either WalMart of JoAnn's for about six months - so perhaps the quality has changed drastically in that time.

Prior to that, I have seen some cottons with "Exclusive Design for Jo-Ann stores" that seemed nice.

I have never seen any cottons with "Exclusive Design for WalMart Stores" (or something similar to that.)

I've purchased some VERY nice fabrics from WalMart stores in the past.

2) Another thing - it would be a lot more accurate to say "SOME fabrics purchased FROM ________ are not satisfactory to me"
rather making a sweeping statement that "ALL fabrics from ________ are unsatisfactory."

Saying "WalMart fabric" is about as accurate as saying "WalMart toasters"

I will concede that SOME of the very "cheap" fabrics that WalMart used to carry were quite awful.

One needs to be careful with words such as: all, none, always, never, every.

OK, I may have to consider this option!!! But tell me, how does one "find" these sites on e-bay. I know they have auctions, but that's about all I know about it. Just never dared take the leap and bid on anything, but at the fabric site you can just buy it right? No bidding or anything? Sometimes I feel rather inept when I consider how little I know of the computer world!

lillybeck 05-25-2011 06:17 AM

Prices are great and the feedback is good. Always check the feedback before you buy.

grandma anna 05-25-2011 06:28 AM

I haven't but have loved all the fabric I bought from there.

There are two different buying options: An auction, where you bid, or a BIN (Buy It Now) with a set price. If you bid, I recommend you use a proxy bidder like Auction Sniper to place your bid. It will bid in increments and will place your bid at the last minute so no one can come in with a higher bid. I love Auction Sniper.

Rann 05-25-2011 07:55 AM

I have bought from them and they are very nice and ship fast. The fabrics are really great. I talked to Frank when I did my first order and her was a really nice person.

SherriB 05-25-2011 08:05 AM

I bought some 1930's reproduction from him, 10 yardsd and it was only $42, with shipping. I loved the fabrics I got. He ships quickly and you just can't beat his prices any where if you want 1930's fabric.

Auction Sniper???? So if you're useing Auction Sniper and I'm using Auction Snipper...who's gonna get the fabric? 8-) Don't worry, I would have a heart attack or something if I were in the bidding area. I'll just maybe try the buy it now...maybe, if I can call Frank's...that's key!!! Thank you for answering my question. Now, how do I locate all these buy it now fabric places. What do I do a search for?

Kappy 05-25-2011 11:39 AM

OK so when I see a lisitng such as "100 yds DEBBIE MUMM FABRIC $2.90 YD IN 5 YD PIECES" I have to buy the whole 100 yards? Is that how it works? How do I find Frank's phone number? I can use all the help I can get...!

thepolyparrot 05-25-2011 11:41 AM

http://crafts.shop.ebay.com/Fabric-/28162/i.html

Click on the "Buy it Now" tab near the top center of the page and eBay will show you only the auctions with BIN ("Buy it Now") prices. :)

thepolyparrot 05-25-2011 11:46 AM

I use BidSlammer.com for sniping auctions on the rare occasions which I place bids.

By bidding in the last seconds of the auction, I have eliminated the seller's opportunity to shill the price up, I've not indicated my interest in the item to other sellers and I've not allowed myself to get sucked into the emotional aspects of bidding - and bidding wars.

With the sniping service, I just put in the highest price that I would be happy to win the auction at.

I don't end up getting into competitions with other bidders and paying more for an item than it's actually worth to me.

I usually win, but even when I don't, I know that another widget just like it (or better) will be posted for sale at some time or other, so I just wait. :)

NUTMEG10 05-25-2011 11:48 AM

I have purchased Jenny Beyer fat qtrs and selection was nice. My issue was he does not take Paypall and I am not confortable with giving my credit card information over the phone. I sent a check so that slowed up the shipment. They are located in Claremont, NH.

Yes, that particular auction is for 100 yards.

Go to his "Items for Sale" to find different assortments:
http://shop.ebay.com/franks11/m.html...&_trksid=p3686

How do I find Frank's phone number?
Some of his auctions have this info and others don't:
1-603-542-2218 Monday thru Sunday from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM EST

You must be wrong because I just completed a purchase from this vendor through eBay, and Paypal was not one of the options. If eBay required that they allow it, the option would've been presented to me, I'm sure.

margecam52 05-25-2011 02:03 PM

No, but I bookmarked her! Very good prices.
