Try partially deflating the purple cushion before giving up on it. I don't use mine all the time, but when I do I find that having less air in it makes it more comfortable.

seriously, that purple thing is so uncomfortable....I too bought the Danskin one, it sits lower and is more comfortable!

I have a red balance cushion, from the fitness section of Amazon. Good news, is that if I ever want to exercise with it, it came with a DVD. Or I could just use the DVD for a coaster... I do like it, as it make sitting for long periods a little less painful.

I have the ball chair that I use at home and one for my desk at work and also the cushion that you are talking about for when I travel to retreats etc.
I like to put a cloth pad over mine it makes it a little more comfortable to sit on, for me the rubber makes me sweat and my legs get sore. It does ease the pressure on my lower back and makes me sit straight. After a while I like to switch to a regular chair for a while. Changing around seems to help then I am not in one position for too long. |
I have one. I sit on the SMOOTH side. It really does make a difference. I can sew all day and not be paralyzed when I finally leave my sewing cave. I also set a timer ffor 30 minutes to remind myself to drink some water and get up and walk around - advice from my chiropractor. The combo of the cushion and walking around plus the water works wonders.

I have a nice office desk chair and never had this problem.
|
tried it and i really did not like it. i just bought a new chair made out of 'bungy' cords or that is what it looks like. my legs and back don't ever hurt now i think it just gives great support. got it at the container store but i have seen it other places

I drooled over the Gypsy Balance Cushion for a long time but just couldn't justify the cost. I found something very similiar at either Walmart or Meijer. It is made by Danskin and it works just as well. It is a balance disk and it helps strengthen your core muscles. My sides and abs were sore for the first week that I used it but I have no problems now. It is sold in the exercise equipment area. The best part is it cost about $13-14!!!
