Costs more to redeem? That isn't possible. Basic math comes into play here.

If something is priced at 10 dollars, with 5 dollars shipping, the real cost for that article is 15 dollars.

If you get a coupon for 10 dollars off, your cost is now 5 dollars, a savings of 10 dollars. That's a 10 dollar gift, not an insult.

It's not costing you anything to redeem, it's saving you 10 dollars.


How large does the gift have to be for you not to feel insulted by it?

I have dutifully done the hops and haven't won a thing. I am not doing the latest one...

I've won several $10 gift certificates, one of which allowed use toward shipping, and once a set of TOT white yardage; didn't use one of the discounts because shop had nothing that appealed to me, but the others were more or less useful, and a couple of the shops now send me emails about specials, which I have shopped. I enjoy the search and the browsing, though have figured out how to speed up the search quite a bit when it's near the end of the month. One month I could not find the last bunny so emailed the shop in desperation, and got a next-day reply that told me where to find it.

I won a beautiful quilt kit on my first online shop hop (10 years ago), the next time I won a $10 gift certificate, I've not won anything since! But it's fun to see what is new at all of the stores!

I've been doing the hop for about 1 1/2 years now. I have never won anything and most times I can't find the bunny to all the shops. I started the hop to get the bonus blocks, but the last few times that blocks were even offered, I could not find them all. I will probably stop doing the hop as it is getting to be too time consuming. It was fun when I could at least find the bonus blocks. And the bunnies are getting harder to find also.

I've played about 3 years off and on. I've won several 10.00 gc. I just use it for a coupon. I'm not worried about getting free stuff when it's a free hop. I won 3rd place once and got several yards of white on white fabric. 5 different cuts. I really like the free sampler patterns. I haven't made any yet, but I've been saving all the patterns.

I too won a $10 gift certificate several months ago and felt the same way...I rarely win anything.

I've done it for a few years, but I think I've only won once (one of the gift certificates).

I haven't won anything since the new people took over. In fact, I doubt I will as my member page is screwed up. When I shop, it doesn't show what shops I have been to. It is a pain in the butt and I have decided it is no longer fun. When it first started, I won several times - $10 certificates at shops and once won $30.
