I'm thinking of ordering a pattern for the Bow Tick purse but then I seen a list of materials and it's calls for 2 yards of Pellon fusible fleece and not being familiar with this I looked it up and it seem very expensive most of what found was $6.95 a yd is there something else everyone is using?

That is what I use. Maybe you could use 40% off at JoAnne's in store or online.
Or you could use Warm & Natural--just be sure to quilt it well, to give it stability and to hold it together. Good luck!! You will become addicted! It is like--I bet you can not eat just one potato chip!!! |

I wait to get the 40% coupon from JoAnn's and buy it. I've heard other members use batting instead. I prefer a more stiff feel to the purse so I have also used the heavy fusible fleece.

I used regular batting and spray basted it and quilted. It worked just fine.

I got a 20 yard bolt of the Pellon fleece with a 50% off coupn from JoAnn online. I do like the stiffer feel of the bags made with it.

Thank you for all your replies! I never thought using a coupon for Joann's to get it 50% off, I don't have a Joann's near me and I have never order online from them I should probably really do that LOL.
I do have a Hancock I will have to keep a lookout for it on sale or a coupon. I'm glad to know I could use batting if I chose though. I quilt but I have never made a purse, you all have inspired me they are so beautiful and Jerrie I really love the pic's of yours, love the fabric your choice. |

I used warm and natural however I also used premier prints which is textile drapery fabric. I did a very simple quilting on it. I made parallel lines one way and turn to the otherside and repeated it. This gave me a block.

Thanks for the tips!! I just received the pattern as a gift! I can't wait to try it out! Whoooooooo-hoo!!
