Question about on line quilt shops
Like most of you, I've purchased a lot of fabric on line but I usually get jelly rolls, fat quarters or a yard or more at a time. Do any of the shops cut LESS than a yard for you? I'd like to purchase 1/2 or 1/4 yard cuts as well. Thanks.

I would think that each website would give guidance as to what the minimum cuts would be. Guess I haven't tried itC!
I think Quilted Threads will cut less than a yard. The web site of the shop should say how small they will cut.
Thanks, Ladies. I'm hoping for the names of websites that will cut less than a yard. For instance, I just checked Missouri Star Quilts and there is no option for less than a yard and Quilted Threads will cut a minimum of a yard + an additional 1/8th, 1/4 etc.

fabric.com does 1/2 yards and you can return if you don't like the fabric.
Thanks, yweinst! Hope to come up with more.
Connecting Threads also will cut less then 1 yd. And the fabric is very nice.
Favorite fabrics will cut 1/2 yard. Used to be 1/4 but I think that changed.

Keepsake Quilting cuts no smaller than a half yard for online and catalog sales. They do cut smaller at the shop (same for Quilted Threads).
All I have bought from have cut anything I wanted .... Most do.
Have you tried Hancock's of Paducah? I don't know what their minimum is, but it might be worth a try...
eQuilter sells 1/2 yd cuts. 4my3boyz sells FQs. I don't know if they cut 1/4 yd.
We do....our website is listed by the half-yard, but if you want 1/4 yard or less, feel free to call the shop, and we can cut whatever size you want and do the order over the phone.

Each site has various minimun cuts, you'll have to check each site you're interested in. I like ConnectingThreads but Keepsake Quilting is a nice one too.
most do 1/2 yards but some do less. it should say on their site
Stitch-n-Frame from Vicksburg cuts from a quarter yard on up - great service, too!
I was on aUS site yesterday that offered to cut 1/4 yard as well as other lengths. I usually ask for 2 fat quarters when this option not there, so far always had one piece.

Be careful to check prices, because some are quoting the fabric by the 1/2 yard and not by the yard.
yes they cut at least 1/2 yard incriments
the "oldcountrystorefabrics.com" cuts less than a yd and right now their Moda is have a large sale for blender fabrics at $4.87 a yd. I just ordered several yds.
I agree http://www.theoldcountrystore.com/ their minimum is 1/2 yard but they have great prices and service
Hancocks of Paduca cuts 1/2 yard.
On my website the minimum is 1/2 yard. It's mostly because that's the way the software works. If you call or email me I can cut whatever amount you want.

fabricdepot.com in Portland, Oregon will sell less than one yard and they are known for carrying hard to find fabric. You can Google them and call them if you are looking for a certain fabric that you can't find anywhere else and they usually have it. Right now they can take orders online, but they have to call you back to get your credit card info. Some glitch in their online store. They are a great store for shopping. I live 250 miles away and have driven there just to shop at their store. It's so worth it!!!
The unit of measure for most online shops seems to be 1/2 yard increments. If it's a sale fabric, most require you buy at least 1 yard. For quarter yards you could try the Fat Quarter Shop. Or go shopping on Etsy. There are plenty of fabric sellers there who will make you a custom listing of whatever kinds of cuts you want.
Connecting threads will go down to a linear 1/4 yard.
Thank you, Christine!
Again, Connecting Threads will cut less than a yard. I have been pleased with their fabrics, and they do have nice sales at time as well.
My thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply. You're all very helpful.
Whittlesfabrics.com and Quiltsrjewels.com both sell in quarters and half yard increments
I know Connecting Threads will cut 1/2 yard at no charge, I'm not sure about the 1/4 yard but it seems like they do.

Question about on-line quilt shops
I would order several fat qtrs. or 1/2 yd. cuts to make it worth paying the shipping!
