I made one for my niece who was also in a wheelchair, and she loved it. I also did a baby quilt. I used white fleece, no batting and I did add binding. My favorite part was the quilting. I used a decorative stitch with colored thread, and quilted in 5 inch squares. The back looked really pretty. I think I used my walking foot too.

For one, I used 2 layers of fleece, for anther I used one layer of fleece and a layer of fabric
