Question about Warm & Natural... I need some great advice!!!

I have been attempting to ensure that I am using the correct batting for table runners and wallhangings. Someone suggested for medium sized wallhangings Warm and Natural. I have no problem with W&N but, someone later mentioned if it is washed you get that crinkled look to it. I definitely do NOT want that to happen to a wallhanging.
So, does W&N usually give that crinkly/used look after washings??
What batting do you use in wallhangings?
Thank you for your ideas. I am truly stumped as to what to put in wallhangings so they will hang nicely and have some good body/substance/weight to them.

I like that w/n look for wall hangings, and for table runners I don't use a batting, and I usually do heavy stippling.............

Thank you Calla. I did use batting in a table runner and certainly did not like the results!

I use Pellon for table runners and placemats, when I don't want the shrinkage look. It really washes well.

I wash warm n natural before using it. It laundered beatifully. I prefer as flat as possible for the finished look.

I have only made one wall hanging and plan to vacuum it with the dusting brush until I get tired of it. I use polyester batting as that is mostly what I use. Not a big fan of W and N for quilts, too thin.

I use Warm and Natural for all my table runners... one reason it is pre-shrinks beautifully . I soak it , spin it ( all in the machine ) and toss in the dryer before use. This ensure no crinkley look. If you want to ensure it lays flat after it is washed ... pre- shrink everything.

For wall hangings you really want something that's stable and that will show definition in your quilting. Warm and Natural is stable because it has the scrim but it's too flat and hard to show much definition. I much prefer either Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 or Quilter's Dream poly for wall hangings I quilt myself. And just so you know, W&N is not 100% cotton. It's needle punched thru a poly scrim.

Thank you Lori S for the great tip on washing the batting before using.
Thank you Scissor Queen for your explanation of battings and W&N.
I appreciate everyone's thoughts!

I thought Warm and Natural is 100% cotton... doesn't it say it is on the label? Why is it so heavy?
