The Quick Ripper...the holy grail of seam rippers
I read about this in a thread here (favorite quilting gadget or something) and was ordering from nancy's notions so I decided to give it a try. Wouldn't you know, the very day it arrived I needed to rip a seam. It was a hem so it was not quite as easy as the videos show (since I couldn't hold the top fabric straight up) but it was still seriously easy. I see a lot of quickly ripped seams in my future. :D
http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...uick+ripper.do When I finished ripping the seam I used the rubbery end of my seam fix seam ripper to get the threads out. |
Don't ya just love it when something does what they say it will? I personally love gadgets and have many that are just a novelty and don't work well. But, when they work it is great.

I am surprised to hear that this works. May have to go watch a video of it. The idea just scares me, but I am willing to be educated. :)

It's just a mustache trimmer relabeled for quilters. You can get them at half that price on Amazon, even less at WalMart.

I've never seen one before. I think I'd be too aggressive and would end up with my quilt "shaved".

I love mine. It has saved me tons of time when I have to remove stitches. There was a bit of a learning curve - I found I had to hold it at a slight angle (not flush with the bottom layer).

Could someone point me to the video please. This looks interesting.

I use plastic eyebrow trimmers I can get 3 for a buck at the dollar store ! They are a wire wrapped little razor that work like a charm !

Just watched the video and ordered from Amazon. Of course, I don't know how much use it will get... I don't make too many mistakes. Sure I don't... lol
