Looking for an idea to cut down on my large stash of green fabrics. I don't mind having to buy a complementary color or two if I can find the right idea. It's difficult to picture what a project using mostly greens would look like. I have lots of "scrappy" patterns but that usually brings in lot of other colors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love greens! I'll check & see what I can find. I'll be looking for my next project anyway so I'll look for both of us. BTW, I went to Newfoundland a few years ago & loved it! We have friends who have a house on Bay Bulls, can't wait to go back.

I started a Jewel Box with green and unbleached muslin and it looks great.

There's always Storm at Sea (regular pieced or paper pieced). Traditionally that pattern is done in all blues but I would think the green would look nice.

There's an old pattern called Village Green that uses all green prints. The block consists of triangles going around a plain center square. I tried doing a google search but all kind of house quilts came up instead. I don't know what the name got changed to. I have the pattern in an old book at home that I can scan into the computer and post if you're interested in seeing it.

How about adding one NEW fabric... St.Patrick's theme... and make a throw using Yellow Brick Road or some other simple block. Using lights and darks you could do any traditional blocks and it would still show up... or do a BOM type with several different blocks...try some of the Jennifer Chiavarini book series blocks.

As long as you have one repeating accent color/theme I'm sure anything would look fine.
Good luck.

Here's the site where I posted a quilt made with all purples. The picture in the magazine was all blues and I made a second one with all teals. I am now making one in all greens. I love the pattern and it would look good in any color! Just use a wide range of greens and it will be gorgeous!

I like the Storm at Sea & St. Patrick's suggestions! Keep us posted, I'm sure it'll be fantastic no matter what pattern you choose.

I was just looking at the French braid quilt book. If you have a variety of lights to darks, that might be a good pattern.

I would really like to see that Village Green pattern.
Thank you so much for the offer!

Marnie - Hopefully I'll have my computer back tonight (getting new hard drive) and I'll scan in it. If not tonight, it will be Thursday.
