Thanks!

Thank you guys for taking the time to help me! I definitely agree with the Pine cone pine burr pattern. I tried to google image search it but nothing really came up. If anyone has nay advice on how to wash it also. It was in a smokers house for 30 or so years. I would love to have it on display in our house.

It can be hard to find, but the best smoke remover I've found is Febreeze Unscented Fabric Spray and advantage is you don't have to wash, but you might want to fluff a bit in the dryer. Sometimes it is easier to find at office supplies or hardware stores than the other likely sorts of places. I just ordered some from Amazon, one of the ladies in my Tuesday sewing group shared some fabric from her sister, completion unused and well stored fat quarters and such, but a pretty heavy smoke smell.

Keanse19, you have a true treasure there! I'm so glad you love it and want to show it!

To me it looks as if she used Prairie Points and then folded the sides toward the middle to make the size she wanted. Must admit that I've never seen one like this before. Quite unique.

I agree! It must weigh a TON. What a treasure of little bits of fabric from your Grandma. Here is a link for this some info about the pine cone quilt technique.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oBj8GQcc6M I agree it is just a different shaped pieces of fabric put in rows rather than in a circle. Keep hunting. You can find so much info by a simple google search.

Just spotted this pattern, and thought of the query in this thread.
While it may not be the exact same pattern ...
... it looks like it may give some insights as to the the "how to" of the original.
