Quilt Identifying Pattern

Hey guys! I am very new to quilting. I recently found a Quilt that my great grandmother made and I would like to know more about it if any one has any advice about how to find out more. To me it looks like a sort of "Pine Burr" but instead if circles it is in straight lines. I gave a picture if i can figure out how to upload it.

Without a picture it is hard to tell, but from your description, it sounds like something of a pineapple log cabin design, perhaps.

looks like hexagons but instead of sewing the edges together you overlap and stitch the bottom of one to the middle of another. When making the hexis it looks like you only need to finish the top half since the bottom half would be covered by the next layer/row.

Wow! That's some quilt. I'm sorry to not really be able to add much information, I don't remember seeing anything quite like it before. However, hard to tell by the scale of the prints but I'm thinking there was a lot of dimensional projects in the 1970s and that was probably made sometime around then with scraps from earlier. What a way to use up small bits!

It looks very much like the process of making a Pinecone Quilt, just using a different shape template.

Perhaps something like this - Pine cone quilt pattern made with tiny dresdens
or Pine cone quilts

Or perhaps a Pine Burr Quilt - an example - Pine Burr Quilt
It's also the State of AL The Official quilt is the Pine Burr Quilt State of AL - This Article also shows how to make the Pine Burr.

There are also YouTube tutorials on making the Pine Burr Quilt

One pic is much like this Drummer Boy quilt, but the other looks as if the point of the dresdens has been folded down too.
