I will have the pleasure of going to Hawaii in April. I have heard about some beautiful work there. Any information on shops or places that I simply must stop at?

Where in Hawaii are you going?
There are shops pretty much on all islands.
Oahu has a ton.
Big Island has a couple that I know about.
Maui has one that I know about, but I know there is someone here that lives there that could guide you to the place.

Which side are you going to? Kona or Hilo?
If you go to the Kona side, you HAVE to go down the main road and spell your name on the side of the road in white coral. It's just something you HAVE to do!!
There's really not a whole lot to do there. Lots of pricey touristy stuff.
If you are into adventure, I suggest doing the Manta Ray snorkel. It's awesome and breathtaking!
I did manage to hit a couple Coffee Farms, but didn't get to any quilt shops there. Wasn't really there for that (gasp!) since I was living on Oahu at the time and could get what I needed there.

I lived there but didn't quilt at the time. My children went 2 years ago and brought back all kinds of quilt patterns and neat stuff for me. Sure wish I could get there now. Enjoy enjoy!!!!! I am jealous. Let us know what neat things you come back with

Watch out!!! My sister says that the fabrics are very beautiful and you can't but just one! Everytime she goes, she buys more and she doesn't even quilt!!!

When I was there 4 years ago, there was one that I went to I think in Lahaina which is on Maui and there was another one on Kauai. They both had gorgeous batiks!!!

I have not booked yet - a friend of mine is going next week and she will bring me back some info. The main reason for going is so my darling little sister can swim with the dolphins and that can apparently be done best on/off the big island. Pat wants to go to the big telescope, Melissa wants to go horseback riding, Phillip wants to play in the sand.....we are not touristy people and will most likely see what nature has to offer. I believe that is where the volcano is too. We have planned 7 days (including to and fro). Should be fun.

I am going with a lady who has lived there, but it has been awhile then. She asked me to ask you about places so she can plan our trip. When I get a 'list' of places, I can give them so she can schedule them into our trip. I have been with the dolphins when I was scuba diving in Roatan, Honduras.
