Quilt lost in Colorado Fires
1 Attachment(s)
My friend's daughter and husband recently lost their home and all of it's contents in the fires raging through Colorado. My friend made a beautiful quilt which was hanging in her daughter's home. She would like to try to re-create this quilt, but is not sure of the pattern. Below I have included the only photo available. My apologies for the poor quality, but under the circumstances it is the only one found.
While I think I can make a pattern, I would really appreciate more information so that the size would be correct and the yardage required would be closer than my guesstimate. Any help will be so appreciated!! |
I wish I could help; so sad. I lost a house to a fire and it just devestates you. Will add them to my prayers.

OMG, it that is not the same pattern, is certainly close. Wow, I am sorry to hear such a lovely creation was lost, but better to loose a quilt than a person. I am hoping that the young woman and her family are physically okay. I realize that the sentimental value of the quilt can never be restore even is another was made by the same person that made the original or if she received 1,000 just like it, which is heart breaking.

So sorry to hear about your loss. The fire was so devastating. We vacationed there almost 25 years ago. It was so beautiful there. The pictures of the lost homes are heart breaking. So much has been lost.

I will never forget when I was about 11 or 12, we lost our home, including all our winter clothes, coats, etc., pictures, you name it. I just cannot tell you how frightening that was for a child. Then, in 1982, my sister and her husband's house caught fire (due to the builder's carelessness -- you can't mortar brick to wood -- it just doesn't work! This happened about 5 days before Christmas! An awful time for my sister and her children! God be with your friends and keep them safe!
