I've been looking and looking, and nothing seems to be quite right.

He'll be 26th, and I just asked him if he wanted a kind of funny one with dogs, or a 'nice' one. He said he'd rather a 'nice' one, and wouldn't give me any ideas on colors, as long as it isn't girly.

He's into cars, his dog, dirt bikes, computer games, and is a cnc machinist..... But I'm thinking he wants something more classy looking.

I first thought of the monkey wrench, I've not made that pattern yet, and thought the name sounded kind of car-ish. But then thought it'd look too much. Then thought of a star, but I did similar for two DGDs.

And yes, I'm probably over thinking this again, as I did with my daughter's..... lol!!!!
Any ideas, to put me out of my misery?

DO you have any fabrics in mind or how many colors? Sometimes, I pick the fabrics first and then go looking for a block to fit.

I did this one for my son last year for Christmas. His favorite colors were black green and brown. I had already made him a quilt with the black, so he got one with the greens and browns. He loves it. I tried to find a pattern that was easy and sort of masculine. Here is what I came up with.
He will be 26 this month.

How about Gentleman's Fancy? It's an easy block, with a good name, and has a nice repeat pattern either in two colors or several.

My friend Avis made her son a beauty it was a Mariners Compass on a black background I think I have a photo of it somewhere - I'll have to have a look on my card in my camera.
She made it in reds, oranges & greens if I remember correctly. Don't quote me on that though these senior moments are getting more & more frequent LOL.
