My Hubby will come into my sewing room and ask " what are you building now?" Then he will call all my fabric RAGS. If I go shopping and bring home a bag he said " how many rags did you buy today?" NO RESPECT!!!!!! LOL A friend almost bought him a bag of rags from Home Depot and put on the tag Now you have your own rags. LOLOLOL

supergma 02-05-2011 06:16 AM

My Hubby's hobby is woodcrafts. He always has a couple of projects going and several on the drawing board. Thinks I am completely normal to have one project on the machine, one by my easy chair and 3 in "to start next".

My husband doesn't play policeman, but he thinks in live in a 'cave' and only come out once in a while!

Way to go girl!

benndm 02-05-2011 08:00 AM

My hubby told me once that if I started one more project that he was leaving. I asked him where he was going to live.

My DH makes segmented wood bowls from a variety of woods. He 'has' to have more than one bowl going at a time because of the waiting for the glue to dry. 'Sides, he looks out for quilt shops in towns when we are traveling, goes shopping for fabrics with me and has his favorite quilt shops, depending on what they carry.

The lady who worried her husband by saying she was making a baby quilt~~~absolutely priceless! :-D

ERCOALIN 02-05-2011 08:11 AM

my tries that too, i just laugh on my way out

mountain deb 02-05-2011 08:15 AM

Now there is finally a face to that quilt cop.

Glenda m 02-05-2011 08:32 AM

My Dh says maybe yours thought he was with Project Blue Book, but they disbanded that in the 60's (?). They were just looking in the wrong places. LOL Just yesterday DH and I discused a quilting design and he likes to pick out the backing flannel for the baby quilts I make for all the new 'family' babies.

katieranch 02-05-2011 08:57 AM

When I first started quilting, I thought I had to finish a project before starting a new one...a friend set me straight and I am a much happier person, lol ;-)

When my oldest daughter (who also quilts) got married, I gave her new husband Popser's book so he'd learn the appropriate responses. I don't know if it's still in print but Popser does have a website where he has many of his articles: http://www.popser.com/

Ohana(Family) 02-05-2011 09:23 AM

I count my lucky stars. My husband is very understanding since he has his woodworking. He knows he doesn't have a leg to stand on if he should happen to become the quilt police.

clsurz 02-05-2011 09:26 AM

I would have gotten up and walked to the bedroom, picked up a pillow and given him a blanket, led him to the LR and put it on the couch or stair and told him that was where he was sleeping tonight. LOL

LOVE IT! LOL That is what I would have told my hubby as well.

Speaking of which the other week he was acting like a 9 year old stomping his feet saying he was leaving to which I responded "ok be the 9 year old your acting like right now and run away.... just make sure you don't call me for a ride home when you decide to return". Y'all should have seen his facial expression....total shock....I think his brain couldn't digest what just happened. LOL

The upside, at least he pays attention to your interests. Now having said that, he MUST be made to understand the mind of a quilter before making remarks. lol

Tropical 02-05-2011 10:43 AM

My DH tells me stuff like that just to hear my response so we'll both have a good laugh. :)

lillybeck 02-05-2011 12:39 PM

Good for you. I just had to remind mine of all the things he did not finish that he was going to get done while I was gone for a month. lol

That's too funny. I bet he doesn't ask you what you're making for a while, anyway!! LOL

wolf3349 02-05-2011 02:57 PM

Mine doesn,t say a word about how many I have going at 1 time. ( six right now --I think)
He even gave me his credit card about 2 months ago to go shop hopping with the gals in our sewing club that I joined.
Today he shocked me by asking me if I was running out of material.
By the way my last excursion cost him $500. +. He just told me I had better use it all.
He,s great & wouldn,t trade him for anything.

lighthouse 02-05-2011 03:40 PM

Thank you quilters. I enjoyed your stories :-)

Yes Dear has a different meaning here also !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jingle 02-05-2011 04:06 PM

Tell him he needs to get a couple of hobbies and he won't have time to be so nosey.

masufa 02-05-2011 04:12 PM

While my hubby and I were shopping one time I stopped to look at the sewing machines and he said "don't you already have a sewing machine" and I said "well how many saws and guns do you have", he just walked away.

How funny. You must still be young.

Becca Bear 02-05-2011 04:14 PM

How funny! At least he's taking an interest in what you're doing!

Tweety2911 02-05-2011 04:21 PM

Good For You

Pieceful Quilter 02-05-2011 04:56 PM

Next time he is at Sears or Home Depot looking at tools, tell him you are the tool police.

Diecy 02-05-2011 05:29 PM

No quilt police around my house. Hubby has no clue what I doquilting wise.

sewingsuz 02-05-2011 05:35 PM

My DH does not even know what i am working on. He is so good about me spending and doing what I want. I am going to keep him.

nananette1 02-05-2011 05:38 PM

OMG - that is too funny - I usually tell him to go hit some golf balls or play golf

WendyMathews58 02-05-2011 06:36 PM

My DH fishes! All I have to do is look at his many rods, reels, and tackle. Then I ask "And your point is?" nuff said.

IBQUILTIN 02-05-2011 06:39 PM

A group of us got together here today to work on our challenge pieces for the quilt show, and I realized that I must have at least 10 working pieces going. All are important, so how do I prioritize? I started on the challenge piece. Its a new one for me. Now there are at least 11

Anna.425 02-05-2011 06:40 PM

I have some wonderful projects that I am working on. There is the blue one that I am donating and the green one for my room and then I found this great red fabic at the store today...
