My hubby made a nice quilt rack using two 2 x 4's floor to ceiling with 4 round rods about 30" wide evenly spaced from about 1 foot from the top down. It leans against the wall and is about a foot from the wall at the bottom. Love it and have it in my living room on display. Everybody comments on it when they see it.

You could use one of those wooden clothes drying racks. They are very inexpensive.

i have 3 quilt racks. my dh is a welder so he makes them to fit the space i have. he made one that is like two ladders with a hinge on the vertical uprights so it stands in the corner of the room and hold 6 quilts.

I have 2. One Is oak and I got it in Lancaster PA. The other is more dainty and I picked it up at a consignment shop for $18.

A ladder works great if you kind of like the country look. Just lean it up against the wall and hang your quilts on each rung.

I have made quilt racks for my granddaughters and a friend. I have one that I kept for myself.
