Totally understand your limitations with your husband. I am planning my best quilt shop hop alone.

Roswell has a small quilt shop and it is on the same street as the UFO museum. I live in Lovington, NM and I think our LQS is much better! Your husband can go to the museum and you can shop!

I have no idea about quilt shops in that area but i was very lucky, my Dh was an enabler and we hit every quilt shop I could find when we traveled. Hope you can enjoy your trip Good Luck

A Quilter's Oasis

Stop at A Quilter's Oasis in east Mesa, just south of Apache Junction, on Crismon and
Baseline. It is not a large store but very good. Also Mulqueens in Mesa is large and awesome.

In Albuquerque stop at Quilts Ole. It has different fabric from Southwest Decorative which also has great fabric.

Maybe get hubby a book on tape and an I pod or whatever to listen to it..??

For the Apache Junction area I will also recommend Quilters Oasis - particularly if you like Batiks as they have a huge supply. They do have a good supply of other types of fabric as well. They are very friendly and a helpful shop so have fun.

If you are able Mulqueens at Val Vista and Main (also called Apache Trail) is a great place; they recently expanded their shop and you will find good prices on machine accessories, quilting supplies, threads and fabric.

Williams Arizona has one shop that I was able to find. I haven't been there but it does have a good reputation.

Tombstone is a very, very small town and I did not find a quilt shop there. The closest one was in Benson but that's not particularly close to Tombstone. Now if you could talk him into a stop in Tucson, AZ there are some really, really nice ones there.

I recommend the Row by Row site. I am using it to plan my stops on our trip to Az later this month.

I would also scout out "guy" shops in the areas of your quilty stops. Send him to those for an hour or hour and a half, while you enjoy your stops. Keeps DH from getting bored and cranky with me. (Think -hardware, fishing, car shows, etc.)
