Thefts are common at Nursing Homes, I don't think I would use the most costly fabrics I own. Just my thoughts. Good for you to do this.

That is a wonderful thing to do for her. I would make it bigger than a twin.

I completely agree. I worked for many years in a Nursing Homes. It was amazing how "stuff" just "dissappeared"., Make sure you sew her name into the quilt , And/or mark in very permanent marker her name in large lettering directly on the quilt. ( Labels can be easily removed)

I too agree with Amma.
When my deceased husband was in a nursing home, I brought him a quilt I'd made for him years ago. It got washed to death but held up fine.
