I can't wait to see that!!! I hope you post pics!! I was in the Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor and have collected some really cute fabrics, one that was very unique has Navy ships, a map of Hawaii and orange hibiscus on it. I bought it on Etsy and have never seen anything like it.

this is a tough one because i would want different ones for different moods. i would like a log cabin with turkey red and hand dyed period colors, and a cathedral quilt with embroidered flowers in the windows, and a silk in bright glorious colors, or any quilt someone wanted to make for me specially. :)

A gorgeous shades of green log cabin with a scalloped edge I don't own a quilt myself.....isn't that strange???

Doing an Apple quilt NOW for myself. It's appliqued apples, having so much fun with it! I have been stashing greens for a quilt for over a year now. It is also for me, don't know if shell ever get done!

Now then a Quilt for my husband..... Since he is often overseas, or as it is right now, living in another state. I want to make him one, but don't ever seem to make the time. I have the fabric for it. Some batiks to make a rail fence. It is on my to-do list of patterns. It looks neat but soo simple. I am in no hurry to just sit and sew the same three strips together over and over and over again. I don't care how neat it will look when its done. Wish I could just fast forward through the pieceing of it.

Remember this would be for just you. So dream on.

I would make 2 mariner's cross' one in the green shades for my husband on a brown background, and the second one in the blues and purples with a black background. The backing would be flannel a nice thick fluffy flannel. For the batting I would make them double thick, as we like our house cool and heavy blankets on us! Now these would be used for camping so I guess that I would want to make a third one for our bedroom which isn't too hard, I would make it tumbling blocks in an assortment of colors, same thing for the backing and the batting!

Oh to dream!

The next quilt I want to make for myself is a lonestar. I'm not sure of the colors though. I've had so many ideas go through my head for it.

I am working on one right now! It is from a 2001 block of the month club by Thimbleberries called, "Quilter's Garden." The blocks are done, and I am obsessing over the borders...

When I put a label on the back of this quilt it will have to be huge because I want to tell the whole story of how I traveled from California back to my home state of Minnesota and found my fabrics at The Main Street Cotton Shop in Hutchinson, Mn. - which is where the Thimbleberries studio also happens to be. I thought I was walking on hallowed ground!!!

My sister and her daughter were with me and we spent HOURS finding just the right colors; it makes this quilt so special to me.

Would I be a freak if I somehow "journaled" all that info onto a quilt label?
