Do you have/wear stylish quilted clothing? I usually think of this stuff as too crafty. But I just saw a woman wearing a zippered sweat jacket with crazy- quilted fronts that looked very good and not at all like a reject from a country fair! What do you think? Dotty

I've seen some on others that looked BEAUTIFUL! However, wrapping this big ol' body in anything quilted would just look like a lumpy bed so no, I don't wear anything quilted.
If I ever did it would be just maybe some Seminole quilting down the front of a jacket. |
I think this is one place where I'd buy another quilter's work. If I tried it on & it looked good, it would be terrific. A nice boxy jacket?

I've seen very little quilted clothing that I'd consider wearing. The worst was an instructor at QBL in a dress with Prarie Points.
The clothing I remember as beautiful was made by a woman no longer in the business - I think her name was Carol Esch. |
I have made African-themed vests (somewhat like Rachel Clark's design) and a couple of people wanted jackets that were similar.

Now I'm curious! I'll take a look at Etsy!
|
I don't but would love to even if it would look like a reject from the county fair. Quilted items are so comfy.
I do agree it makes you look big when you are big and yes I am big. |
Quilted things don't have to be bulky. But a look at Etsy tells me there should be a separate Etsy for Seniors!!

I've made some crazy quilted vests and worn them and had lots of compliments on them. I did not use batting but sewed the pieces onto a foundation and then used a metalic thread on the seams for deccoration. I then lined the vest. I think they came out nice. I have also seen some very nice items at quilt shows that were not at all "crafty" looking.

Sounds lovely. Photo?
