I'm so glad I posted this.... thanks for the input...and more great fun ideas.....

I made one and filled it with bobbins, spools of thread, small gold stork scissors, and thimbles. It sold for $25 at the guild sale table.

Boy am I going to have lots of scrapes to put in my jars...... ;-)

We made these at my last quilt guild meeting! We made the top in hand sewn hexies and they came out very cute!
