Quilter's Jelly

Have any of yall ever seen the "Quilter's Jelly" pin cushion? It is a mason jar filled with cut up pieces of fabric and the pin cushion is made on top of the lid...... they are so cute and make a nice gift for quilters.....

I have seen the mason jar with a pin cushion on top. The term Quilter's Jelly is cute though.

I haven't seen one, but have made similar ones. But I put pretty buttons, etc. in the jar, or I make it into a mini sewing kit with small scissors, threads, needles, buttons, etc. A fun gift for a sewist. :)

I hadn't heard of this one, but I'm sure going to try it with buttons in one and fabric in the other. I also keep my thread trimmings in a dish by the sewing machine so I can fill clear glass ornaments with them. Read about this in some book I read years ago. People were filling the ornaments with yarn trimmings from knit and crochet patterns. They're pretty and make nice gifts.

I just had to Google this because I've never seen one. Found this with directions!

Ooh! And here are bigger ones with candy inside!

This would be a fun Christmas gift for a quilter.

I have a mason jar with a pin cushion on the top that my daughter-in-law made for me. It has a bag that can be removed that fits inside the mason jar that you can use for threads and scraps when you sew. You and also fill it with sewing notions. It also fits in a cup holder in the car so it makes a nice on the go gift. I love it. She put a picture of herself and my son under the pin cushion so when I want to "see" them all I have to do is look under the pin cushion.

We received them last year on our birthdays from my Bee. The jar part was 1/3 filled with buttons. Now all my spare buttons go there.

Put your thread cuttings in it, especially the emb. thread and when you get LOTS of it place between 2 pieces of wash away and meander all over it, wash away the stabilizer and have a unique shawl.
