I am 34 and really got into quilting a few months ago, but have been sewing and did pillows and quilt tops that I didn't machine quilt, made clothes.. I started at 15.. Made alot of pillows for Christmas presents that year.. And really try to encourage my daughter and my step-daughters to be creative.. This isn't an old persons hobby at all.. I think most of us feel younger because we quilt and stay creative.. I have always enjoyed doing lots of different crafts.. I am just creative at heart..

I'm 64-1/2 and have been sewing since 9th grade - 14 and made my 1st quilt at 20 been doing it off and on since then and sewing clothes for myself and 2 daughters, making pjs for son. Now I am an old lady and I quilt a lot and have been for lots of years, 22 yr. old Granddaughter says she does not ever plan to quilt, I hope she changes her mind in years to come, 16 yr.old Granddaughter doesn't plan to quilt either, both had sewing in school. I don't think my 4 Grandsons will either. They all sure enjoy my quilts and comforters I have made for them. I guess if we all quilt, who would enjoy them.

I'm 24 and just started quilting - bought my first fabric shortly after Christmas. I also do cross stitching (started doing that when I was around 11 or 12), and I used to knit when I was a kid too. I've just always loved making things :)

I'll be 67 next July. I don't know where the last 30 years went, but they went by at warp speed (so be forwarned, all you youngsters!). I think quilting is presumed to be a "Grammaw" pastime because lots of us are now not holding down regular paying jobs and we've raised our children; they've moved out and left us nice sewing spaces and a little extra cash to feed our hungry quilting hobby. Although it does not HAVE to, quilting and all its "requirements" CAN take up lots of time and space and money. Before getting into quilting (in the late 1990's), I sewed clothing and dolls and didn't need or have as much work space as I do now.

I'm 33. None of my current friends quilt (or scrapbook or crochet). But you know what? It just makes it that much more fun to give them things because I'm the only one that does!

I am 30. Started quilting about 2.5 years ago. I really love it and am glad that I started early! All the more quilts to make!

I am 36. I am the youngest member of the quilt guild. I always say look at all the wisdom those fine ladies have to share with me.
