This post caught my eye as my 4 1/2 year old grandson asked me today if he could sew. I am usually working on some quilting piece when he comes over and stop working on it when he is here. Today he chose a nice blue thread and some lime green felt and we zig-zagged a square to make a pocket bag. He was so proud to show his mamma what had made. I rested the foot pedal on a small stool so he could reach it. :)

Sweet, sweet memories being made. I would hang on to that quilt unless you know for sure that she or her parents are not the type to throw things like that away.

How absolutely wonderful!! Save it andgive it to her when she is grown up. She may not remember all of itbut you will and you can tell her how much that time meant to you. It will become a keepsake for the rest of your life and hers. A truepiece to be cherished. I only wish I had a memory like that of mygrandmothers.

My boys are always thrilled when I pullout fabric and we are going to be making wall hangings together. We've done one other project that was small, they don't even rememberbut I do and truly, while they are young and interested, try to getin as much as you can. Bless your heart for taking this on with her. Most adults would want to brush kids aside so they can work (andthere are times when one needs to just work) but taking advantage ofyour time together is just so awesome. LOVE!! <3
