I use Freecycle to get rid of unwanted quilt magazines and bags of fabric scraps. Books I give to a local quilt guild.

I buy old quilt magazines at the library's sale. It's usually $1.00 for a stack of 5 or 6 magazines. I keep the ones I want and donate the others back to the library sale.

You usually don't get enough money for books at Half-Price to be worth the trouble.

Facebook also has selling sites for books/ fabric/sewing items. Be sure to check out which sites sell what...some only will advertise your fabric. Of course you have to supply a PayPal account and be willing to ship to a customer which can be expensive.

All thrift stores in our area sell them. Call and ask if they will sell them or throw them away.

My guild has a "used" book and magazine table at our biennial quilt show. As long as magazines are complete, meaning you have not torn out a pattern and directions, they are added to the table. Sold for $.10 to $.25 each and amazingly the table usually nets $600-$700 dollars. Books are generally sold for $1-2.

I have found magazines just do not sell for very much money. It was not worth my effort to sell them. I donated mine (not a huge amount) to an assisted living place. They were very happy to get them.

Try Half Price Books if you have one near you.

I use to sell on ebay but these days nothing is selling so everything goes to Goodwill when it comes to books...I rip out patterns in Mags and throw the rest away.
