I machine quilt on my Babylock Quilter's Choice. What could I use to clip/hold my quilt rolled up as I quilt. I tried one type from Joanne's but they made it less manageable instead of more. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Many just accordian pleat the excess, makes it easier to handle than clips and rolling. Maybe someone else has a picture.:)

I don't do well when I roll my quilt. I seems to make it harder to move. Like Dakotamaid said, I just pleat, bunch, puddle or maybe wad mine up. Look on YouTube for Leah Day. She has a nice video on quilting on a regular machine that shows her technique.

Bicycle clamps work well for me for large quilts.

I use really really big binder clips from the office supply . I can acordian pleat or roll it holds them and are easy to re- manuver. I have an assortment of sizes that clip to one of the shelves in my sewing room when not in use.

Oh my gosh, I never thought of folding it like a fan or accordian. Great idea. I just spent the last hour or so watching all the Leah Day videos. Great source. I bookmarked the page too. I bought the table she recommends last week. Didn't measure my machine. Assumed it would fit and it doesn't. My brother is going to take a router and cut the opening about 1/2 inch bigger so it works with my machine. I hope having a flat surface makes it easier to quilt also. Thanks for the suggestions. I am so excited to try the new table and accordian folding it!

I use large hair clamps. They hang on my spot lamp next to my machine. CHEAP!

I find that bunching, pleating, and puddling works best. It's much easier to move around when it's not bound.

I wouldn't buy bicycle clips again, waste of money for me! I just puddle or push my quilt like Leah Day's suggest and it works best I think!

I have the clips (round ones) and found I spent more time arranging, rolling, rearranging than they were worth. I too follow the Leah Day suggestion of puddling/pushing. That seems to work best for me. I have seen some videos of huge quilts rolled, clipped, and put over the shoulder of the quilter! I can't imagine being that coordinated and competent to manage all of that!!!
