I'm not sure what a potato bag is but I saw one or at least I think that was one. It had potatoes in it, so I assume it was for microwaving baked potatoes. Anyway, it looks just like the tortilla warmers that I have mad with exception of the flip lid to keep the tortillas warm. It is two quilted circles, mine were 12-15 inches , with one side cut about a 1/3rd of the way from the top and sewn onto the full circle or back circle, and the top part that had been cut off was sewn onto the top of the back circle, and overlapping the short front bottom portion, making sort of a lid. They were used to put flour tortillas in, in the microwave to warm up, and the tortillas were kept warm in the cover. Sorry not a real good description. Gerbie

I would love to find a potato bag pattern. I was them for sale at a Bluegrass festival that I was at, and I was going to buy one just for the pattern. Didn't make it back.

I made mine at first by the pattern I found on the web but soon altered it to make it easier to make & use. Type in "free pattern, potato baker bags." Click on the tipnut.com website. When it comes up, scroll down and click on Potato Baker Bags tutorial. There you will find complete instructions on how to make the bag.

The lip is the most difficult area to work with and is not really necessary. After about a dozen bags, I just flipped the top over like a purse. Easier to make & to use! I turn the bag face down while cooking the potatoes.
