Dry cleaning fluid might take out the lines. You might talk to the dry cleaner before washing. If you've already used water and heat on the piece the ink is probably going to be set.

I havew just washed the quilt in mild dish liquid. I did not press with iron.
|
No, I did nor press it before quilting.

It will depend on the ink involved. I can dissolve any kind of ink in the lab (can even tell you who manufactured and what dye lot) but it might destroy your fabric  . Unfortunately, some inks will actually be set by lye based soap (any soap, laundry, body or dish soap has some sort of lye in it) so getting your ink out after using one of these can be a problem. I hope it comes out. I preach the small sample area a lot but sometimes a project looks better if the whole thing gets treated the same way every time. I wish I were more help.

I wonder why it says to dry clean a quilt? Is it made from a silky fabric?
|
thanks, I am going to try to talk to our dry cleaners here and see if they have any suggestions as to how to remove the dye.
|
No, the quilt is all cotton. I have no idea why it needs to be dry cleaned. Maybe that is the only way to get out the dots.

Yes, the quilt can be washed in the washer, but would have to take it to a laundry mat. My washer is too small to handle it. Also will try the warm water and shout. Thanks

Very pretty. I hope the lines disappear for you.
|
Thanks lab fairy, I think I will take it to the cleaners and see what they say about the lines and if that don't work, I will try the oxi clean.
