yes, that was what it was the paper. I just never heard about Thangles? I have so much of it I need to use it up and just spend the time pulling the pieces out but I will never buy more.

You can also trace onto Solvay water soluble stuff and wash away the remains after the quilting is done. Maybe more expensive, but if you don't want the hassle of paper bits, I guess it would be worth it for some people. I used the tissue paper method, and I would definately do it again. If the quilting is not too intricate, it tears off very easily.

Fran in Venice, FL--be sure to set your stitch down smaller when paper piecing and using Thangles. That helps the paper come off better. And You put your thumb nail at the sitching line and pull the larger part and it comes right off with a snap and the other side too.
