My pet peeve would have to be not enough time to quilt, too many other day to day things get in the way - guess that's life.

My #1 peeve at quilt shows is the little pieces of thread or fluff on quilts that are hanging - my fingers just itch to pick them off. I'm sure it wouldn't take someone long to go around and check each quilt after it is hung. It seems to be the first thing that draws my eye to the quilt.

Well Ladies, thanks for all your pet peeves. Wow I did not expect so many to respond. I did get a couple of chuckles out of them. And Karate Lady you will not have to clean for a very long time. I have no plans to go to Washington, but if I do I will let you know well in advance so you will have plenty of time to clean. ha ha. And now my wish for all of you is that your pet peeve does not come to visit you for a very long time.

*Doing strip sets and then realizing I had the wrong sides together.
*Blocks disappearing and then reappearing...and then disappearing.
*Squaring up anything larger than a half yard. I have such a hard time lining up the selvages so the fold lays straight. Just when I think I folded it right I realize it doesn't hang straight.

These are my same pet peeves! I have my neighbor's pants to mend right now!

2. having a pattern that I like the looks of and can't for the likes of me understand how the heck they put it together
3. interuptions---any kind
4. pattern instructions that start with cut "412 2" squares from these fabrics" I want to make A block, ONE, first to test the pattern or my choices
deemail, loved your answers. I agree.

It seems like running out of bobbin thread is at the top of the peeves and I agree. And I hate making careless mistakes. The good thing is that quilting makes us focus and pay attention. Maybe that is good for us older folks:>)

Quilting pet peeve

When the bobbin thread runs out and I have sewn a really long seam.
When I plan out a pattern for a quilt and get pretty far along only to realize I don't have enough of a certain fabric. Grrrrr!
When I don't press my squares or strips hard enough on my fabric wall and come back later to find some on the floor.
Biggest peeve: When I am on this board reading and writing and DH comes in to tell me about the score and the fantastic plays on whichever game he is watching, whether it is golf, basketball or football. Like I really care, but I try to stop and act interested so I won't hurt his feelings. He probably gets bored with me talking and showing quilting stuff.

That is my pet peeve too, along with someone using my scissors to cut paper.
