Silly naive me thought I was purchasing a subscription. After receiving mag I called Fons andm Porter where I bought it and asked if it was a one time deal or was this a new mag with future mags included. The lady on the phone did not know and could not answer my question....???????

I also thought the price was high - but looked at 3 patterns I liked and decided I couldn't purchase 3 patterns for $9.99 - even the lady checking me out thought it was expensive!

I ordered one from 'Fon's and Porter", then downloaded the digital edition to my IPad, then found one at the grocery store. This is the only issue with our darling Jenny Doan.

You might check your local Barnes & Noble. Joann's annoys me with their coupon shenanigans, and the supermarkets rotate the titles so they don't always carry the same magazine from month to month. I like B&N because you can oftentimes find 40% coupons on the internet to print out (and YES, you're allowed to use them on magazines!), and they carry magazines that are hard to find, such as Australian Patchwork & Quilting, New Zealand Quilter, Quilt Mania, etc.

The Joann's here have an ongoing 10% off all magazines, so you can't use a coupon anymore ... is that not a store-wide practice ??? hmmm ...

They're actually called "BOOKAZINES" ... I've seen some for up to $12.99. If they offer a lot, I'll buy one ... and compared to some thin, regular issues that avg. $6.99 now

I'm the one on the right in a pic above somewhere with Jennie & 2 friends. We really did have a great time. Jennie showed us all sorts of shortcuts for making blocks. She showed us her workroom & where she makes the videos, quilts, her sewing machines, etc. We had the grand tour. Can't wait to go back!!! I tried to get a pic of her husband, Ron, but he always ducked behind a quilt. He took this pic of us with Jennie. What a neat family! She autographed our magazine too. I think it's worth the price.

Three of us made the trip to MO Star Quilt Company on a recent Saturday. We were lucky enough to meet Jenny and her husband while we were there. Jenny took the time to show us around the shop and spent an hour with us showing different quilting techniques and essentially giving us some lessons! What a great time we had! Her husband was a hoot and stayed with us, holding up quilts and answering questions. They told us the story of how they got started in the business, identified all their kids and grandkids in a family photo and just basically made us feel so welcome. What a great day we had!
