Same here...DH super glued it & I still use it. He got me a new one for Christmas though...said I shouldn't have to use a broken/glued ruler. His favorite saying: "Always use the right tool for the job." He's so cute. :)

glue the ruler itself with super glue---go to the hardware store and buy some "thin" plexi (like the stuff that comes in a cheap poster frame) and glue that to front side....in from the sides and ends.....not disturbing measurements---sort of a reinforcement (double decker)

I broke the 6" x 22" ruler coming home from Stitch Camp 2 yrs ago, I wrapped it with clear package tape & it is still going strong. Decided to keep that one with my Stitch Camp supplies (we have one almost every month) because the chance of getting broken is high getting things in & out of the car.

I dropped my ruller...contacted the manufacure..it was replaced for free. I scanned a pic to prove it broke...no hassels!

We used packaging tape on a broken ruler at the LQS where I work. That was about 4 years ago, and we're still using it.

Tartan, that's a perfect idea! I like how you stabilized it first with the tape and then glued. I will have to remember this method....can work for other items tOo. Thanks again for taking time to share. :)

I used super glue on a 9 degree spiral ruler I accidently closed in my van door breaking the small end totaling off immediately after purchasing it. It worked great. You can see the break, but cannot feel it.

ruler, waited several weeks for it to arrive in the mail, and when I unwrapped it,,,,,there it was in two pieces!! The woman I bought it from just said keep it, and refunded my money....I want to use the ruler!!
I have one that broke and I joined it ever so carefully and then taped it with clear packing tape. Have used it ever since without an issue.

A few years ago already, I used a quality packaging clear tape for my 6.5x24 ruler and it works out fine. I have even folded it in half to take to quilt club.

Any reason it has to be 6 X 22? 6 X 24 seems to be a pretty popular size and is available lots of places.
