Quilting Software

Hi! I'm new to this site and am excited to dig in and learn from other quilters, make new friends and have fun!

I am looking to purchase a quilting software program and am struggling with making the decision between Quilt Pro 6 and Electric Quilt 8.

I'd love to hear from quilters who have either, or both, of these programs as to what you like and what you don't like about your software.

Thank you!

I'm not really familiar with Quilt Pro but have EQ8 (upgraded from EQ7)--I find 8 much more usable and like it's features. I unfortunately do not get enough time to use it as often as I would like. And one area that I would use more is if I was better at drawing the motifs I want to use as quilting motifs (beyond what they offer in their libraries) as I long arm quilt probably more than I piece. I do like that they give you monthly free fabric sample downloads and project downloads too.

here is a link to an ongoing thread on this forum regarding the EQ7 and EQ8. It is at the top of the main forum page.
You might get some information there. I have the EQ7 and do very little with it as I haven't invested the time to learn it.
I have absolutely no information about Quilt Pro 6.

I have EQ8, upgraded from 6 and 7. I use it all the time. I don't know anything about Quilt Pro.

Quilt Pro is very straightforward but the Windows version is better than the mac version. It is also quite a bit cheaper than EQ
