I also use old clothing patterns to transfer quilting patterns onto. I can quilt through these and then just tear them off.
Also, If you look closely at the bottom of the Urban elementz.com page they have some free patterns you can either print off or down load digitally. Joann's, Hobby Lobby and Hancock has some of the plastic patterns. Hancocks are especially reasonable in price, I think. I even got some that were on clearance last week for .40 cents. great deal. |
i have bought some nice stencils from quilt in a day and from patchworkplus
|
Try this site. i use their products all the time and like them. The Ideas they have can get you started and then move into creating your own patterns. Take a look!

Once in a while I can find them at a LQS but normally I stock up on them when the quilt show is here in NPN, Va
|
I go every year to intern quiltshow in Houston then I stock up , well I still have stuff to sew from 11 years ago and patterns to make
|
I have got some at Jo Ann's, Hancock's and the LQS.

I also use Crayola Washable markers with the fine point. Again, test first...don't ask me why! It was the brown on the yellow fabric I think.
I use the fine line purple erasing markers, they disappear after 24 hours completely. I mark as I go with these. The blue wash away markers work great on everything but pink. They some times hang on there... The blue Chaco chalk sometimes has an issue, but I haven't had a problem with the white chaco |
Wow, great site, what a selection. I've even used cookies cutters to trace around for a small design.
|
JoAnns have a few have Hobby Lobby
|
i like my frixion pens they work great on stencils and simply iron off. yes they come back if you put them in the freezer but if its that cold you will appreciate the warmth of the quilt and not even notice the marking.
|
I use the "Stecil Company" too. www.quiltingstencils.com

I hope this helps witht he problems with the blue pen not coming out. This is what I was told to do by one of the women from The Baltimore Album Society when I took her class. |
The Stencil Company. They have a website. I used to keep hundreds on hand when I had a brick and mortar shop....

I have ordered from them numerous times and they always come quickly. It does take a long time to look at their whole collection because it is huge! But they have broken it down to handy sections like "feather blocks" "feather borders" "background" "double wedding ring" and stuff like that. |

Hi Judy, We carrying the major formats for quilting machines ... embroidery formats have to be set-up differently digitally and I haven't crossed that bridge yet. Hopefully we will next year. And your information is incorrect ... The previous user must have us confused with Intelligent Quilting. We still carry (and will always carry) paper pantos. Patricia |
http://createforless.com I've gotten some from here too. Great choices.
