Very pretty, I've always admired that fabric line, you use of it and the white is really nice.

That is a lovely quilt. No advice here but wanted to say how much I love your quilt. Good luck with the quilting. I believe in keeping it simple so as not to take away from that lovely layout.

Beautiful quilt, I am just learning so can't help with quilting! What is the name of your pattern?

I didn't do the other diagonal as its a small square and I didn't do it in the right order but that's my very first go.

I too have trouble with free motion--are you saying you did this with your walking foot? It gives me hope!

I like what you did here, it will be very pretty in the white. I usually do a diagonal across the whole quilt since the colored squares are all in a diagonal row.

You can do easy curves with a walking foot quite easily. (Not tight curves!) A nice modern look is to use a walking foot to make wavy lines all across the quilt. Repeat, not necessarily making all the waves nest with one another. If you look at some of the quilting patterns of Angela Walters, you will get an idea of this. Google "modern wavy quilting" and click on "images" to find some examples. Here's one, but it's not a very good one:

What a pretty quilt!

That is a very pretty quilt! I understand your questions, too; they are the same ones I had when I first began quilting on my DSM. I know what I did on my first one (SITD in lines, starting in the middle, working out to the sides) but will leave the experts to give you suggestions as to the proper way.

It's the disappearing 4 patch, I'll add a link to the YouTube tutorial when I get one the computer later.

I got part of the way through the flowers and my needle snapped, had to go buy more and then my kids needed attention, you know to be fed and looked after and stuff lol.

Once I've dropped the older one at school and got the others breakfast I will continue.

I decided not to join all the flowers because you'd see it on the back side and this way it will stand out. My friend said just to leave long threads and she will come over tomorrow too help me hide them.
