How awful!!! There was a show in a nearby area in which two quilts that went missing during the "take down" time after the show. Fortunately they magically surfaced when a "no questions asked" reward was offered. I don't want to judge, but it sure seems strange that no one found these quilts for almost 3 weeks, but within 18 hours of the reward notification, they appeared. I'm glad they did, and I sure hope these are found.

How sad that they are missing. I sure hope they are found soon! Heartbreaking for the quilters who made them!!! :( :( :(

sheria 07-21-2011 06:44 AM

3 words for who ever has these quilts karma, karma, karma!!

bigdogmom 07-21-2011 06:49 AM

I also hope they are just misplaced and had not been stolen. I remember talking to a LQS owner who said a customer was slipping batiks off the bolt and putting them insdie her coat. She was stealing entire bolts!!!!

Tootsie 07-21-2011 06:52 AM

Oh gosh, how sad. Sure hope they turn up

BellaBoo 07-21-2011 06:59 AM

I hope these beautiful quilts show up. I'm sure C&T has not left one stone unturned in the search.

I don't buy black garbage bags! But I can't imagine why anyone would put a quilt or anything else in a white or black trash bag if it wasn't meant for the trash. You can buy huge paper gift bags in all sizes, even for king size quilts and the bags are much prettier.

Landers 07-21-2011 07:00 AM

This makes me so mad! We work so hard on creating these quilts for someone to just take them!

EagarBeez 07-21-2011 07:21 AM

Hope they can find them, it's quite awful for something like this to happen

catmcclure 07-21-2011 07:23 AM

Someone else lost their prizewinning quilt from the Salt Lake show a couple of years ago. Seems like Salt Lake has a problem.

rivka 07-21-2011 07:43 AM

That's just so awful. I can't imagine how both the quiltmakers and the people in charge of the show must feel.

jnagy1206 07-21-2011 07:51 AM

How sad! What a loss. It is shameful of the dishonesty out there. Hope they are found soon.

peacequiltingnana 07-21-2011 07:55 AM

Such a sad thing. I want to be like many of you and give the benefit of the doubt but . . . we've had door prizes disappear from out Lions' Club meetings, things disappear out of people's purses at Guild, whole purses disappear from our church - and we live in a sleepy, little rural town. Sure hope they show up.

BellaBoo 07-21-2011 08:01 AM

If someone did steal the quilts, they do not feel bad or guilty, just proud they got away with it. All thieves are proud of their stolen goods and will gladly give them as gifts to impress their family and friends. They don't lose a minute of sleep over it. Most of the family members don't either.

fabrichore 07-21-2011 08:11 AM

that is just horrible, I sure do hope they mysteriously appear just like they disappeared...

angelarose 07-21-2011 10:22 AM

Here's hoping the quilts have been honestly misplaced somehow.
A.

penski 07-21-2011 10:24 AM

oh how sad i hope they find them

Kellie G 07-21-2011 10:30 AM

That is just awful. I would be heart broken. Hope they find those quilts soon!!!!

Nanjun 07-21-2011 11:13 AM

That is pathetic. Guess some people can't resist.

Hope they will turn up soon.

reginalovesfabric 07-21-2011 12:30 PM

too bad I hope they are found

BarbaraSue 07-21-2011 01:44 PM

I hope the box was erroniously shipped to the wrong place and the quilts can be recovered.
It is hard to believe that a quilter would steal, but there are still missing quilts from another quilt show from a few years ago.
Very sad indeed.:(

Tweety2911 07-21-2011 01:44 PM

How aweful! Sure hope they get their quilts back.

mojo11 07-21-2011 03:16 PM

How shocking! I hope nobody took them. I'm thinking of all the hours and love put into each quilt. No price tag for that. I am sick for the quilters that made these works of art.

Susanna10 07-21-2011 04:02 PM

so sad

IDquilter 07-21-2011 06:59 PM

Keep our fingers crossed they were just put in the wrong box in error and they will be retuned when found.

desertrose 07-21-2011 09:51 PM

All we can do is hope and keep our eyes open that someone spies them soomewhere and reposts it.
