Quilts in the movie Mandie and the Forgotten Christmas
1 Attachment(s)
Did anyone watch Mandie and the Forgotten Christmas that aired yesterday? There were so very many beautiful quilts! I saw this quilt on Mandie's bed
I think it was in different colors, though. The movie was set in 1900. Do you think this quilt pattern is actually that old? If so, when it was presented on one of the famous TV quilt shows several years ago as a 'new and exciting' pattern, were they just hyping it? Does anyone know the actual name of this pattern? I love spotting quilts in shows :) |
I think the quilt is named Weaver Fever.

I saw that too. I called my sister to look at it. They also had one hanging over the chair. The one on the bed was awesome!!!
|
Yes, I saw it, too. LOVED the quilts, especially the Weaver one. Nice to know the name.

I clicked on the pic to enlarge and in the lower right hand corner it said woven chain jpg

Sadiemae has that quilt as her avatar on this board. It is called Weaver Fever. On my to do list. Sadie's is beautiful.

Loved the quilts! I did cringe a bit when the attic girl went out to catch a rabbit while she was wrapped in a quilt.

Some blogs say that Jackie Robinson at Animas Quilts is the designer? Looking through her site I couldn't see any confirmation of that. Maybe you could email her & she might know the designer if it's not her, she does have a weaver fever quilt pictured on her site.

This might be a pattern book, if anybody is interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Weaver-Fever...item415f41f3e8

It definitely looks like Weaver Fever that was in the Fons and Porter magazine around 2006, using the Maywood "Daisy" fabric. I made one and donated it to the MS Society for a Silent Auction.

.. and I thought I was the only one looking at the quilts on the silver screen!!
|
Wow! Have you been to her website. She has beautiful patterns I have not seen anywhere else. Take a look. www.animasquilts.com/RibHeartLg.html. Sorry this is the link to the quilt pattern I fell in love with for Valentines Day for my new DIL to be. But you can get to the rest of her patterns from there.

Will be looking for this show. Sorry I missed it. Sounds like a good one for a change. Have been watching all the Christmas shows I can providing I can get to the TV before Matt Dillion and Paladin
|
Apparently, back in 09', several ladies on this board did this quilt together. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...er-t16606.html. Very interesting reading!

Can you tell me which station this was on so I can search for it?

My name is Jackie Robinson. I am the designer of the Weaver Fever quilt. It is a Weaver Fever that is featured in the Mandie and the Forgotten Christmas movie -- it's even in the trailer! QuiltnNan wrote us about it last week. I've since contacted the producers via Facebook. I'm delighted the quilt is in the movie.
It's a strip pieced project - not difficult. We first released this design in 1991 -- gee! it's 20 years old, and still one of our leading patterns. Thanks to QuiltnNan for letting me know that it made the movie!! |
