Do yourself a favor and get the Heritage Cutlery 6.5" Spring Loaded Rag Quilting Snips. They are the best I have ever used for rag quilts. When my guild was making donation rag quilts everyone had the Fiskars but when they used my Heritage ones I couldn't get them back. They are made to last and never get stuck closed or open. Mine are years old and still cut like new.

I've "ragged out" after making a bunch last Christmas :D |
I have the large rag die. I cut my batting using the six inch square die. Sewing the squares together is easy. If one of the rag snips get caught in the seam just clip it out. Or do what I do most of the time, make the quilt rag on both sides by overlapping the seams and sewing down the middle.

I love my Friskars, was lucky enough to find them on clearance at Michaels. Bought them up and shared with my sisters.

Love mine. Got m with a coupon. Worth every penny. Fiskars is my fave

My husband helps me cut rag quilt seams. We lay the quilt on the table. He starts on the left and I start in the middle as we move across the row. He prefers the Fiskars but I prefer the Heritage.

When I made one several years ago, I used by Cutco kitchen scissors. Worked great! Do you have a paid?

I have those Cutco kitchen scissors and they are awesome!!! I haven't used for rag quilts but they cut everything imaginable!
