Rag quilt scissors

I want to try making a rag quilt and am looking for suggestions regarding spring loaded rag scissors. In researching them Fiskars are the cheapest (around $14). Prices go up to over $100 which I don't want to pay. What do my fellow quilters recommend?

I bought Fiskars and have been very happy with them. Made several rag quilts last Christmas. Still very sharp. Like you, I didn't want to spend a fortune on something I wouldn't use a lot.

I have a pair of Fiskars also & I love them. Still sharp as when I bought them. Once they seemed to "bind" a little. I thought maybe I had bent a blade but I just loosened the little black phillips head screw jut below the blades & that fixed the problem & work great.

I got my Fiskars rag quilt scissors at Joann, using a 50% off coupon. They work great.

And I keep mine next to my machine to clip stray threads. Good investment.

Do yourself a favor and get the Heritage Cutlery 6.5" Spring Loaded Rag Quilting Snips. They are the best I have ever used for rag quilts. When my guild was making donation rag quilts everyone had the Fiskars but when they used my Heritage ones I couldn't get them back. They are made to last and never get stuck closed or open. Mine are years old and still cut like new.

I'm lazy I use my Accuquilt die.

Me too. I have the sizzix die, I have very few dies but made it a point to invest in that one

I also have these.

The only "complaint" I have is that sometimes the safety catch will catch when I don't want it to. They are SHARP - and stay sharp.
