These are the best I have used. My hand does not get sore or tired.

I think mine are like yours. Love them!!

I have the Fiskars sold at Lowe's. They are good snips. I use them for cutting cord, rope, bird food bags, anything thicker then fabric, etc. They earn their keep around here. They are my favorite gift to give to new homeowners.

I can’t remember but I am thinking the only rag quilt I started, I cut my batting smaller so it wasn’t in my snip area. Mine was started about 10-12 years ago and remains a UFO because my hands hurt to snip with scissors. I refuse to buy the snips to finish as I am determined NEVER to make another.-lol it is almost complete but just can’t bring myself to finish. Maybe one day because I really liked the John Deere fabric and because we have farmers in the family.

I have a pair of spring loaded snips that I used for the one & only rag quilt I ever made. I've used those snips for other things too & they work really well. Mine did not come from Lowe's but I see that Lowe's are a lot less expensive than JoAnn's. I think I got mine at Walmart many, many years ago & don't know what I paid for them but I know it wasn't the $35-$50 price range that JA sells them for.

I have these gardening snips and wondered about using them. Actually I have them on my sewing table. Now I will use these when I get to that part, which is a ways off.

Thanks for all of your ideas. Have squares cut. Think I will start with a pillow cover and see what happens, if memory serves me right I remember the thickness of the seams when I sewed together before. Now my machine is older so will see how it goes.

I've only made 1. Here in NE Texas it doesn't get real cold so I just used 2 fabrics with no batting. Used 5" blocks but decided when I make another, it'll be with wider blocks! Using ½" seams makes them more ragged when washed....
