Beautiful display, grammasue!

Grammasue, I love your display of quilts. I have some quilts folded in a chest, but doesn't look neat as yours. Love your SAS.

I'm looking for a paper pieced pattern for a mini Storm at Sea. Any suggestions?

John Flynn sells laser cut kits that are very nice.

I haven't made it, but really like it. I was going to use the pattern from Quilter's Cache.

That is a gorgeous one! There are so many variations to this pattern. I have a pattern from the October 2014 issue of Quilt Sampler magazine called Sea Swept and it is a Paper Pieced pattern. Looking at the details I see it is a lot of tiny pieces to PP and for a lap sized quilt, which would equal a bazillion pieces for a bed sized quilt! I have a kit of batik fabrics for another quilt that I bought solely for the fabric, not the kit pattern and wonder how it would look in this as I never thought of it. However, if I'm going to put that much work into it, I think I better be sure I'm going to like it and just buy fabric for it specifically to get the outcome I want.

Creative grids has a wonderful ruler that makes a 16 inch block ...ruler is used to cut all the pieces and the block goes together nicely. Great ruler.

SAS was the 2nd quilt I made. Since it was my 2nd, I didn't know it was supposed to be hard. I used templates from Quilting In The Heartland turned the quilt on point and figured the goofy corners as well as I could. It is a wall hanging in my guest room. I just made it the size that I liked the look of.
