OMG, you did indeed luck out, what terrific finds. I haven't been to Goodwill in some time, but I never found bargains like that. Good for you.

While I'm pretty close to two GWs I'm always happy to check out different ones. One day I had to run an errand for work to an area I'm very familiar with but haven't been through in a while. Lo and behold there was a GW (I've been told it's been there for about 6 months) The next Saturday I talked my husband into going to check it out. We get in the door and he goes one way and I go the other (he likes the smalls I like the furniture) After a bit he comes up to me and whispers "there's a Husqvarna". I try to get some details from him and all he can say is it says Husqvarna and looks weird. I go to check it out and it's a Huskylock 905 marked $14.99. There is a foot pedal but no attachments. Sold! While it has cost me in total $115.00 because I had to take it to the shop to be cleaned and oiled I'm pretty darn happy about finally having the serger I always wanted.

Our DAV stores have more fabric etc than the goodwill, and better prices

As I was in line at the local thrift store, the lady ahead of me was checking out a pr of shoes. The lady working says to her, "My, those are nice. I wish I had known we had them. Let me show you the pairs in the back...I've put back to pay for on payday. Mine are really nice!!" I was so tempted to tell her I'd pay for them right on the spot. She had a whole pile of goodies she had stockpiled in the back. I just put my stuff down and walked out before I got myself in trouble. I think what bothered me most was her bragging about what she was doing. If she really needed the stuff and quietly put it back, it would have been different.

I've been lucky enough to find quilt books at my local ReStore. They did have some machines, but they looked to be in disrepair and too expensive for the condition they were in. We have a Savers locally, so i will have to check it out.

Tiffiin They don' always have good stuff but better than most

I know. My comment was on the price. I thought your comment about what is donated was so true for the dozens GW I've visited. I like to support GW because they assist people without jobs. I just think the variation in pricing is wide. (I guess I didn't make my previous comment clear.).
