I've forgotten a lot of my Apple stuff - been 15 years - but you should have a copy and paste key-command (command-c to copy and command-something to paste). You should also have a program that lets you play with pictures. So you copy the pic, then open your play-with-pix program and tell it to paste the image. From there you should be able to edit at will, like drawing lines over the image as I did.
