made this when i first started sewing, entered it into a very small county fair and was told it "didn't flow". Oh well.

Does not flow? HUH????????????????? I think your "fair" needs some new judges. If you give me the address, I have LOTS of extra reader glasses I'll be happy to donate to them.
Please don't take their offensive message to heart. I've been quilting for years, seen tons of quilts as well, and I think this is one of the cutest quilts I've laid my old eyes on! Keep up the beautiful work! Tell those judges if they want "flow" to go to the river they should see plenty there! |

All of the above!!!! Good grief! I haven't entered quilts in a fair, but I thought EVERYONE could enter...didn't know they were judged. I entered a painting once....of an ocean scene. The one that won didn't even look like an ocean!!!! (was in the ocean category). I found out later that the judges were related to the one that won....maybe the same thing happened to you OR they were just plain brain dead!!!!

I'm too dumb to even know what artsy comments like "doesn't flow" means. It's a quilt with candy on it. I love quilts and I love candy, so it works for me!

Must have been very traditional old ways only judges. Seems small county fairs have the oldest quilters alive judging.

What the heck does "didn't flow" mean?
Is it some new quilting term made up by the quilting police? I've never heard of anything submitted to a Fair to be rejected from being placed in the fair. |
Doesn't flow?? Never heard that expression in regards to quilting. Whatever were they thinking?? Your quilt is not only beautiful, it shows great creativity!!! Your friend is very blessed to have you as her friend! Please, keep on quilting!!!

They didn't allow it because you would have knocked the competition right out of the water and taken first place, hands down.

It is adorable and so creative!! YUMMMMM I've stopped entering anything in competition. It's so subjective on the judge's part. Why get beat down because a judge doesn't like green (or whatever color used).

Looks great to me. Those judges are old sticks in the mud. Ignore them. Besides, there are no quilt police, so who do they think they are?
