Thanks for this thread! Valuable information. I have been looking at the electronic sharpener at Nancy's Notions. Now, I think I will just continue buying them at JAF with coupons, as I have in the past. Was given some Harbor Freight blades and upon trying them, found them to be loaded with thick, sticky oil, hard to slide one off, and it did not last long at all.

aren't we beating a dead horse here. we've discussed this so many times before. for a couple of bucks for a new blade it just doesn't pay to resharpen them. unless the sharpening person knows exactly what they are doin they can ruin the pitch of the blade for you just like knife sharpening. can go to harbor freight and buy blades for a buck each. have never had a problem.

I replace when dull as it is dangerous and frustrating using a bad blade, sometimes to clean and sharpen a little I cut up cooking foil, works for a bit, but in my opinion new blades are a necessary expense of quilting so buy when you can get good prices.
