replacement or sharpen your rotary blades
I have Fiskar and Olfa rotary cutters. I get stressed when my blades gets dull, or when it sgets a nick spot and I have to repeat my cut . . . frustrating. I do have a manual blue rotary blade sharpener, sometimes it works ok, sometimes not. What do you do? Sometimes I've been buying new Olfa blades 5/pk with Joann coupons instead of fabrics, lol. Is there other brands blades you could recommend hat is economical, or sharpening tools/techniques you could recommend? Are the electrical sharpening tools worth the price and is it easy to work with? thank you in advance.

I just replace the blades as needed. I buy them with JoAnn coupons, too. Having had to go to the ER for stitches after slicing a finger a few years ago, I would never mess with trying to sharpen those blades.

I use the JAF coupons or wait for a sale. I always have extra on hand.

I purchased the blue sharpener from Nancy's and sent it back. I also use the coupons fromJAF. Every time a get a coupon I can use for blades I do it. I also use a fileting glove from a sporting goods store. Michael's sells the blades also so I use coupons for those when I can. I bought a pack of blades from Harbor Freight super inexpensive and worse ever.

My cousin and I split a pack of 100 blades purchased on ebay from a US seller for less than $1 a blade. The are no-brand but for me, last as long as the regular branded ones. I just change the blade often and discard the old one.
In the past, I did try titanium blades and they do last a lot longer, but are much more expensive. |
I would suggest you replace your blade. I only buy them at JoAnn's when I have a coupon but I always have an extra one on hand.

Through E-Bay I buy blades from MT Blades. Very reasonable price and a very good blade!

I've tried sharpeners and they just didn't work to my satisfaction, so now I just replace them. I buy online mainly.

The first skip of the blade and I replace it and get on with my life.
