I got rid of my new machine last week. My newest machine now is a White 770 Auto. (can't find any info on her anywhere) I am keeping her for the fancy stitches!!

I love all my machines equally. I'm keeping all of them.

DH and I were talking about that. I would be hard pressed to give up my Janome 6500 or Janome Jem. The Janome 6500 is big and heavy but I can still take it to class, has many stitches, walking foot, knee lifter, free motion foot, large opening, automatic threader, sews great, quilts great, no tension issues, table that attaches, automatic cutter, needle up and down option etc.

Most of my vintage machines are straight stitch only or at best zig zag. Many have no reverse. Don't get me wrong I really like sewing on them but I like the features on my Janome too.

It would be limiting to have only a Feather Weight or singer 201. Even a Singer 401 with all the cams would be too heavy to move around or take along and boy do I miss the automatic threader especially since I am just starting to get older eye issues. If I had to choose it would probably be the Bernina 830 as it has the knee lift, is lite enough to carry, is all mechanical metal parts. Right now I am piecing on a Feather weight and quilting on the Janome 6500.

I told DH I was not selling any. I like them all!

I have newer machines also, but I hang on to my Pfaff 1221. It's an oldie, but goodie. I've found that it is my absolute favorite for FMQ.

Love my featherweight. The rest could go.

Besides my 2009 embroidery/sewing machine, the next newest machine is the late 70s Kenmore that I bought new. I love my older machines.

I have no machine younger than 1967 a New Home all metal and weighs 45 lbs, two more electrics 1940 White and singer128 the rest are treadle or HC. If had to get rid of all but one I would keep the 1908 66-1 no the white peerless Hc no the 1916 red eye no!!!!!! I guess I will keep them all.

i have both and i wouldn't trade in my new Juki machines for anything.

the stitches are beautiful just as straight as my vintage singers including the 201 and the featherweight.

while i love the look of vintage and collect them for the art work and history i would never use them over my high tech juki.
